For FCS Pre-Professionals
PAFCS HUGS/MENTORING PROGRAM FOR FCS PRE-PROFESSIONALS
Are you an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a course of study in Family
and Consumer Sciences?
Do you want half of your AAFCS renewal membership fee sponsored by an FCS professional?
If you answered yes to the questions above, then apply to the PAFCS HUGS/Mentoring Program!
WHAT IS INVOLVED? Complete the following three (3) easy steps listed below:
- Complete a Preprofessional/Graduate Student (P/GS) Application Form.
- Complete an AAFCS Membership Application, available from your FCS Program Director or online.
- Return the following to Melissa Welsh:
a) PAFCS HUGS/Mentoring Program Form AAFCS Membership Application
b) Your check for $30 (half of AAFCS membership dues), made payable
to PAFCS
THEN WHAT?
You will be given the name of a HUGS/Mentor sponsor. The $30 membership difference will be forwarded to AAFCS to complete your $60 P/GS membership dues.

For FCS Professionals
PAFCS HUGS/MENTORING PROGRAM NEEDS FCS PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT!
Are you a family and consumer sciences professional who is happy with your career choice?
Would you like to encourage a preprofessional to complete his/her education in Family and Consumer Sciences?
Are you willing to sponsor at least one student’s partial AAFCS membership renewal for this academic year?
If you answered yes to the questions above, then apply to be a mentor in the
PAFCS HUGS/Mentoring Program!
WHAT IS INVOLVED? Complete the following two (2) easy steps listed below:
- Complete the PAFCS HUGS/Mentor Sponsor Form.
- Return the form to Melissa Welsh with a check for $30, made payable to PAFCS.
THEN WHAT?
You will be given the name of a student needing your HUGS and mentoring. Your check will be forwarded to AAFCS to complete your $60 P/GS membership
dues.
