APPLYING FOR TEACHER OF THE YEARTeacher of the year formsEvaluation Criteria (pdf) Teacher of the Year 2012 Nomination Form (MSWord format) Teacher of the Year 2012 Nomination Form (pdf) Purpose of the AwardTo identify and recognize exemplary teachers who utilize cutting-edge methods, techniques, and activities to provide the stimulus for and give visibility to family and consumer sciences elementary and secondary education. EligibilityTo qualify for the PAFCS Teacher of the Year, the candidate must be employed as a full-time, permanent Family and Consumer Sciences teacher in grades K-12 at the time the nomination is submitted. The candidate must be a current member of AAFCS/PAFCS at the time of nomination and for at least three consecutive years prior to nomination. Program FocusThe objective of the Teacher of the Year Award Program is to stimulate the development of state of the art programs that are both timely and newsworthy and serve the needs of the students, the school and the community. Each nominated program should be focused on one of the five following program areas as identified by AAFCS guidelines:
