When you're ready to join, we offer 3 ways to do so:

 Online

• If you have never been a member or customer or attended an event of AAFCS, create a profile and complete the application.
• Click here to Join/Rejoin (you will be prompted to log in to your MyAAFCS account; if you have been a member before, attended an event, or transacted with us in any way you have a MyAAFCS account).
• Unsure if you already have a profile? Call or email us first; this will help ensure your member history remains intact and your record is not duplicated! 

 By Phone

• Call us and we will be glad to assist you! AAFCS accepts credit card payments by phone at 800.424.8080.
  
  

 By Fax or Mail 

• Check, money order, and purchase orders are accepted via fax and mail. For your security, we accept credit card payments via phone or online only. Download and complete our membership form, here (PDF).

If you are a renewing member and would like to enroll in our new monthly payment option, breaking your dues into 12 installments, please email membership@aafcs.org.

Professional Member $150*

• NEW! Monthly Payment Option available; to enroll, choose "Professional Monthly" in the online join process.**
• Eligible members are individuals with a degree or professional-level credential in any field of study who support the field of family & consumer sciences.
• Professional category members are eligible to hold elected office.
• Membership includes free registration for webinars offered by AAFCS, an online issue of the Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences, and one affiliate (state, at-large, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico) membership of your choice. Additional affiliates are available for a fee upon request to AAFCS. 
• Discounted insurance  - including professional liability for employed educators and those in private practice - via AAFCS' partnership in the Trust for Insuring Educators.

*Special introductory rate of $100 is offered for the first year of Professional membership (one-year only). Affiliates of AAFCS receive a rebate of 25% of the member dues amount.
**Optional Family & Consumer Sciences Research Journal must be paid in full.

Student (Collegiate/Postsecondary) $50*

• Eligible members are enrolled as degree or endorsement-seeking students in a postsecondary program. (Part-time or full-time students are eligible).
• Student membership includes free registration for archived and live webinars offered by AAFCS and one affiliate (state, at-large, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico) membership of your choice. Additional affiliates are available for a fee upon request to AAFCS.
• Student category members are eligible to hold elected office and receive free online access to the Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences.
• Discounted insurance  - including student educator liability insurance - via AAFCS' partnership in the Trust for Insuring Educators.

*Affiliates of AAFCS receive a rebate of 25% of the member dues amount.

Emeritus $100*

• Eligible members meet the Professional category criteria, are retired, and at least 60 years of age.
• Emeritus membership includes free registration for webinars offered by AAFCS.
• Membership includes an online issue of the Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences (on Ingenta), and one affiliate (state, at-large, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico) membership of your choice. Additional affiliates are available for a fee upon request to AAFCS. 
• Discounted insurance  - including term life and long-term care - via AAFCS' partnership in the Trust for Insuring Educators.

*Affiliates of AAFCS receive a rebate of 25% of the member dues amount.

Lifetime Member

This category is available to members in two different tiers: $2,500 upon retirement or $2,000 upon reaching 50-year membership status. For each of these amounts, $500 is a tax-deductible contribution. For questions or to enroll, call 703-706-4606 or email contributions@aafcs.org.
